The Pecan Street Festival

The Pecan Street Festival has been a contributing factor in the transformation and positive progression of 6th Street and its surroundings for over 30 years. As the largest arts and crafts festival in central Texas, the Festival generates an estimated 43 million dollars in economic impact annually and attracts over 300,000 attendees per show. As a non-profit charity organization, Old Pecan Street Association donates a large portion of Festival proceeds to the city of Austin and local non-profit organizations alike and is constantly striving to improve upon Austin’s fantastic image and way of life.

Texas Round-Up is an independent non-profit organization working to improve the health of Texans through education and promotion of physical activity and healthy living. Texas Round-Up provides tools, opportunities, and programs that encourage people of all ages and fitness levels to participate and get healthy. Each year, they organize the Texas Round-Up 5K and Family Mile to provide an incentive and inviting entry into a health and fitness based lifestyle.

Active Life

Active Life is a nation-wide non-profit dedicated to fighting America’s obesity epidemic. Their mission is to establish a culture where healthy is the norm – making healthy lifestyles available to all citizens. One of their campaigns to further this cause is the state-wide It’s Time Texas Campaign. Active Life approached Upbeat Marketing as part of their quest to launch a TEAM component of their It’s Time Texas Campaign.

Created by Austinite Amy Randolph, Quiller is an online journal app made for iPad. It is truly special in that it offers over 1,000 thought-provoking prompts from content experts to help users avoid writer’s block. Cover to cover, Quiller looks and functions like a real, paper journal with a side-by-side layout and turnable pages. (Interesting side note: Randolph took her savings to buy a home and built an app instead)
